DICHIE CHANG, COMMITTEE CHAIR: And it was brought up to my
attention, if I can just go back please to the first item on the agenda regarding the
Kaua`i Marathon in regards to doing some sprucing up at Pu`u Road. If I can have
Mr. Furfaro help me with this clarification.
JAY FURFAR.O: Oh, certainly and I'll be glad to help you any time,
Mr. Chang. Just so that the public knows, Pu`u Road is on our schedule. There's
$125,000 budgeted for Pu`u. Road and I wanted to make sure it wasn't the
presentation on the Marathon that had timed that schedule, that I thought it was
quite important to share that with you, Mr. Chang, and I did look it up and we do

have it in the CIP Program for the General Fund. It's just now a matter of the
Office of Economic Development working closely with Engineering to make sure
that it's timely. But the money is there.
I would like to also indulge you for a second item and it is not my nature to
feel that I've been rude to any member of the audience coming up to speak, but the
agenda item, in fact, was 'the website and I wanted to say to Mr. Rosa, since I heard
him say that he did not have a website available, I do have a copy for him. You
know, we had Congresswoman Mazie Hirono here this week and she spent some
time. And I will provide to you, Mr. Rosa, a copy of the American Recovery
Investment Act for Hawai`i along with the summary of the stimulus bill and I will
be glad to make that available to you since I heard you did not have a computer. I
did make two other copies hearing from Mr. Mickens, but I do know from his many
editorials in the Garden Island he does possess a computer to download this
information, but I do have it available. Thank you, Mr. Chang, for the extra time.
Mr. Chang: Thank you, Mr. Furfaro.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 10:44 a.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Wilma Akiona
