Kaneshiro Honorable Lani T. Kawahara Honorable Derek S. K. Kawakami Honorable Bill "Kaipo" Asing, Ex-Officio Member Honorable Dickie Chang, Ex-Officio Member The Committee proceeded on its agenda items as follows: Bill No. 2376 A BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 8, KAUAI COUNTY CODE 1987, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO THE COMPREHENSIVE ZONING ORDINANCE [This item was deferred.] JAY FURFARO, Planning Committee Chair: I would like to call to order the Planning Committee. Let the record show that all members are present and may I ask the clerk's office to please read the first item? Laurie Chow, Senior Clerk Typist: Bill No.2376, a bill for an ordinance to amend chapter 8, Kauai county code 1987, as amended, relating to the comprehensive zoning ordinance. Mr. Furfaro: Thank you, thank you very much. I would like to point out as I have mentioned, I am pursuing a workshop that would look at the potential or proposed implementation of the amendments. The amendments that were submitted to us from the planning department came with a number of questions from the council members, so I have initiated some contacts to actually look at the earliest possibly scheduling a November 4th workshop. But that again is a tentative date based on the fact that we would like to make contact with Dr. Fletcher and several others that I choose not to acknowledge now, because the fact of the matter is that I am not sure of them, besides travel cost, wanting to implement any time or attendance charges. My preference is to support travel cost. And I also have some correspondence going to the planning department as we do have some savings in the sea gg~rant fund that we had approved but has been vacant for the last two months. so again that is what I am hoping to do. So this would be an item to really defer at this time until that workshop is firmed up, approximately November 4th. TIM BYNUM: Can I make a motion to defer pending workshop. Mr. Furfaro: Thank you, may I have a second? DARYL KANESHIRO: Seconded. Mr. Furfaro: All those in favor say "aye." M ~ • Committee Members: Aye. Upon motion duly made by Councilmember Bynum, and seconded by Councilmember Kaneshiro, and unanimously carried, Bill No. 2376 was deferred. Mr. Furfaro: Thank you very much. That completes the business that I have in the planning committee, and we are adjourned. There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 9:56 a.m. Respectfully submitted, d ~z~~•~t aurie Chow Senior Clerk Typist APPROVED at the Committee Meeting Held on November 4, 2010: JAY F Chair, a n' e
