AN ORDINANCE AMENDING .ORDINANCE NO. B-2009-690 AS
AMENDED, RELATING. TO THE OPERATING BUDGET OF THE
COUNTY OF KAUAI, STATE OF HAWAII, FOR THE FISCAL YEAR
JULY 1, 2009 THROUGH JUNE 30, 2010, BY REVISING THE SURPLUS
AND APPROPRIATIONS ESTIMATED IN THE SEWER FUND

Payments)
This Bill proposes to amend Ordinance No. B-2009-690, as amended, relating
to the Operating Budget of the County of Kauai, State of Hawaii, for the fiscal year
July 1, 2009 through June 30, 2010, by revising the surplus and appropriations
estimated in the Sewer Fund as follows:
A. SEWER FUND ESTIMATED REVENUES <$171,957.00>
(Unappropriated Surplus Fund Equity)
B. SEWER FUND ESTIMATED EXPENDITURES <$171,957.00>
(SRF Loan Payments)
The appropriation for $171,957.00 proposes to lower the expenditures in the
SRF Loan Payments Account as well as the Unappropriated Surplus Fund Equity.
The SRF Loan Payments are anticipated to be lower than expected due to the
timing of the Lihu`e Wastewater Project.

COUNTY OF KAUAI, STATE OF HAWAII, FOR THE FISCAL YEAR
JULY 1, 2009 THROUGH JUNE 30, 2010, BY REVISING THE SURPLUS
AND APPROPRIATIONS ESTIMATED IN THE GENERAL FUND (Solid
Waste Fund)
This Bill proposes to amend Ordinance No. B-2009-690, as amended, relating
to the Operating Budget of the County of Kauai, State of Hawaii, for the fiscal year
July 1, 2009 through June 30, 2010, by revising the surplus and appropriations
estimated in the General Fund as follows:
A. GENERAL FUND ESTIMATED REVENUES $455,795.00
Contribution to Solid Waste Fund)
B. SOLID WASTE FUND ESTIMATED REVENUES:
Unappropriated Surplus Fund Equity <$318,795.00>
Contribution from General Fund $455,795.00
Landfill Disposal Charges <$622,000.00>
C. SOLID WASTE FUND ESTIMATED EXPENDITURES:
Kekaha Landfill Operations <$260,000.00>
Automated Collection Carts <$212,000.00>
Uncollectible Receivables <$13,000.00>
This appropriation is to address the anticipated shortfall of $940,795.00
within the Solid Waste Fund by reducing the Solid Waste Fund budget
by $485,000.00 and providing a subsidy of $455,795.00 from the General Fund.

APJD APPROPRIATIONS ESTIMATED IN THE GENERAL FUND
(Golf Fund)
Tl;~is Bill proposes to amend Ordinance No. B-2009-690, as amended, relating
to the Operating Budget of the County of Kauai, State of Hawaii, for the fiscal year
July 1, 2.009 through June 30, 2010, by revising the surplus and appropriations
estimated in the General Fund as follows:
A. GENERAL FUND ESTIMATED REVENUES:
Contribution Golf Fund $555,316.00
B. GOLF FUND ESTIMATED REVENUES:
Golf Cart Concession <$76,216.00>
Green & Locker Fees <$479,100.00>
Contribution from General Fund $555,316.00
The Golf Fund revenues (green/locker fees and cart concession) are lower
than anticipated based on reduced play and therefore a subsidy of $555,316.00 from
the General Fund is necessary.
All interested persons who wish to present their comments may do so at the
public hearing. Written testimonies prior to the hearing would be appreciated.
Copies of the proposed ordinances are available at the Office of the County Clerk,
Council Services Division.
(The Council Committee or Council may amend these Bills at its subsequent
meetings. Meeting notices are posted at least 6 days in advance at the County Clerk's
Office and the public may also testify at any of these meetings.)
