HomeMy WebLinkAboutBILL 2412, 2413 NOTICE OF PUBLICATION/NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING (input sheet) NOTICE OF PUBLICATION AND NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING Notice is hereby given that the Council of the County of Kauai will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, October 5, 2011, at 1:30 p.m., or soon thereafter, at the Council Chambers, 4396 Rice Street, Suite 201, Historic County Building, Lihu`e, on the following: Bill No. 2412 A BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE TO ESTABLISH A NEW ARTICLE 20, CHAPTER 22, KAUAI COUNTY CODE 1987, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO UNLAWFUL CONSUMPTION, POSSESSION OR CONTROL OF INTOXICATING LIQUOR WITHIN PARKING LOTS AND GROUNDS ADJACENT TO THE HISTORIC COUNTY BUILDING, COUNTY ANNEX AND LIHU`E CIVIC CENTER The purpose of this bill is to amend Chapter 22 of the Kauai County Code 1987, as amended, by adding a new Article 20, making it unlawful to consume intoxicating liquor or otherwise possess any opened receptacle containing intoxicating liquor within the boundaries of the parking lots and grounds adjacent to the Historic County Building, County Annex and Lihu`e Civic Center. The bill makes any violation and conviction of these provisions a petty misdemeanor punishable by up to thirty (30) days of imprisonment and/or a fine not to exceed $1,000. Bill No. 2413 A BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE TO ESTABLISH A NEW ARTICLE 21, CHAPTER 22, KAUAI COUNTY CODE 1987, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO URINATING OR DEFECATING IN PUBLIC AREAS ADJACENT TO THE HISTORIC COUNTY BUILDING, COUNTY ANNEX AND LIHU`E CIVIC CENTER The purpose of this bill is to amend Chapter 22 of the Kauai County Code 1987, as amended, by adding a new Article 21, making it unlawful to urinate or defecate within the boundaries of the parking lots and grounds adjacent to the Historic County Building, County Annex and Lihu`e Civic Center unless in a portable toilet or restroom, or otherwise justified due to a verified medical condition. The bill makes any violation and conviction of these provisions a petty misdemeanor punishable by up to thirty (30) days of imprisonment and/or a fine not to exceed $1,000. All interested persons who wish to present their comments may do so at the public hearing. Written testimonies prior to the hearing would be appreciated. Copies of the proposed ordinance are available at the Office of the County Clerk, Council Services Division. (The Council Committee or Council may amend these Bills at its subsequent meetings.
