Notice is hereby given that the Council of the County of Kauai will hold a
public hearing on Wednesday, November 16, 2011, at 1:30 p.m., or soon thereafter,
at the Historic County Building, Council Chambers, 4396 Rice Street, Suite 201,

Bill No. 2420
A BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 8, KAUAI COUNTY
CODE 1987, RELATING TO THE COMPREHENSIVE ZONING
ORDINANCE (Clarifying farm worker housing permitting requirements)
The purpose of this bill is to amend the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance to
specify the number of farm worker housing structures allowed under a use permit
and to clarify the types of property that can be subject to a farm worker housing use
permit.

A BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 8, KAUAI COUNTY
CODE 1987, AS AMENDED, FOR THE IMPOSITION OF CIVIL FINE
AUTHORITY FOR THE COUNTY OF KAUAI PLANNING DEPARTMENT
The purpose of this bill is to provide further deterrent options by expanding
the bounty s current ability to levy civil fines for any violation of County ordinances
or rules pursuant to Section 46-1.5(24), Hawaii Revised Statutes. This bill proposes
to amend Chapter 8 of the Kauai County Code 1987, as amended, by adding a new
section 8-24.2, which gives the Planning Director the right to impose a civil fine
when it has been determined that a notice of violation has not been complied with,
and to bring a civil action to enforce any such fine.
All interested persons who wish to present their comments may do so at the
public hearing. Written testimonies prior to the hearing would be appreciated.
Copies of the proposed ordinance are available at the Office of the County Clerk,
Council Services Division.
(The Council Committee or Council may amend this Bill at its subsequent
meetings. Meeting notices are posted at least 6 days in advance at the County
Clerk's Office and the public may also testify at any of these meetings.)
