Notary Public, Fifth Judicial Ciruit State of Hawaii My Commission Expires: Document Description: Affidavit of Publication No. of pages: 1 Document Date: PUBLISHED ON: 09/06/2012 FILED ON: 99f$�571�� THE GARDEN ISLAND NOTICE OF PUBLICATION AND NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING Notice is hereby given that the Council of the County of Kauai will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, September 26, 2012, at 1:30 p.m., or soon thereafter, at the Council Chambers, 4396 Rice Street, Room 201, Historic County Building, Lihu`e, on the following: Bill No. 2444 A BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 5A -6.3, KAUAI COUNTY CODE 1987, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO REAL PROPERTY TAX The purpose of this bill is to amend Section 5A -6.3, Kauai County Code 1987, as amended, to increase the Minimum Real Property Tax amount from $25.00 to $150.00. This proposal was recommended by the County's Cost Control Commission. Bill No. 2445 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. B -2012 -736, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO THE OPERATING BUDGET OF THE COUNTY OF KAUAI, STATE OF HAWAII, FOR THE FISCAL YEAR JULY 1, 2012 THROUGH JUNE 30, 2013, BY REVISING THE SURPLUS AND APPROPRIATIONS ESTIMATED IN THE GENERAL FUND The purpose of this bill is to address the utilization and transfer of funds to provide for the twenty percent (20 %) local matching funds required by the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) for the purchase of vehicles with FTA Section 5309 Funds. This proposal was previously approved by the Council (see Communication C 2010 -123 and C 2010 -276). The source of funds being transferred are Other Post Employment Benefits (OPEB) funds within the accounts of the Transportation Agency, Fire Department, and Police Department. The remaining funds in the OPEB accounts of the respective Agency/Department will be sufficient to continue payment of the County's one hundred percent (100%) Annual Required Contribution (ARC) funding to the Employee Union Trust Fund (EUTF). All interested persons who wish to present their comments may do so at the public hearing. Written testimonies prior to the hearing would be appreciated. Copies of the proposed Bills are available at the Office of the County Clerk, Council Services Division. (The Council Committee or Council may amend these Bills at its subsequent meetings. Meeting notices are posted at least 6 days in advance at the County Clerk's Office and the public may also testify at any of these meetings.)
