PUBLIC SAFETY & ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES COMMITTEE
October 17, 2012
A meeting of the Public Safety & Environmental Services Committee of the
Council of the County of Kaua`i, State of Hawai`i, was called to order by
Councilmember Mel Rapozo, Chair, at the Council Chambers, 4396 Rice Street,
Suite 201, Lihu`e, Kaua`i, on Wednesday, October 17, 2012, at 10:57 a.m., after
which the following members answered the call of the roll:

Honorable Dickie Chang
Honorable KipuKai Kuali`i
Honorable Mel Rapozo
Honorable JoAnn A. Yukimura
Honorable Nadine K. Nakamura, Ex-Officio Member
Honorable Jay Furfaro, Ex-Officio Member
The Committee proceeded on its agenda item, as shown in the following
Committee Reports which are incorporated herein by reference:
CR-PSE 2012-09: on PSE 2012-06 Communication (10/10/2012) from the
Council Chair, requesting the presence of the
Prosecuting Attorney, to provide an overview
and update on the Teen Court Program.

CR-PSE 2012-10: on C 2012-401 Communication (09/11/2012) from the Civil
Defense Agency, requesting Council a pp roval
to receive and expend grant funds from the
U.S. Department of Homeland Security, via
the State of Hawai`i Department of Defense
in the amount of $359,925.00, to be used for
the FY 2012 State Homeland Security
Program which will enhance the capability of
State and local units of government to
prevent, deter, respond to and recover from,
threats and incidents of terrorism, and to
continue to provide support to the Citizen
Corps Councils.

There being no objections, the Committee recessed at 4:37 p.m. and convened
in Executive Session.
There Committee reconvened at 5:42, and proceeded as follows:
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 5:43 p.m.
