CCC 2012-12 Communication dated 7/10/12 from Chair Dirk Apao to Director of Parks and
Recreation Lenny Rapozo, requesting the presence of a representative at the
8/113,'l 2 meeting to discuss the County's schedule of fees and deposits for usage
of the County's parks and facilities.

recreation on regulation and control of County parks and recreational areas.

• Data showing the percentage of the County's electrons and how
they are used

approach to maximize the County's energy efficiency
• Installation of the County's PV (photovoltaic) systems in the Civic

Mr. Chaffin requested that a correction be made on page two (2) of the
minutes to reflect that the motion was made by Ms. Stoker to receive the
communication and that he second the motion.
With no further discussion, Chair Apao called for the motion. Ms. Yoshida moved to approve the minutes as
amended. Ms. Sterker seconded the motion.

Chair Apao suggested that the Commission continue its discussion on the
validity of each exemption type that is listed in the Kauai County Code.
Fle indicated that although the Commission has begun the review process
and has received information regarding the exemption types, no decisions
find/or recommendation have been made to date.
Ms. Sterker requested for additional information that describes the
charitable nonprofit 501 (c) (3) organizations. Deputy County Attorney
Mauna Kea Trask provided the Commission with the Organization
Reference Chart for all 501(c)'s.
CC"C 2012-10 Review attd ossible approval of draft recommendation of
a Bill for an Ordinance amendinia, Section 6-5.1 Service Charge Assessed
of the Kauai County Code 1987, relating to increasing the fee for
dishonored checks in the amount of$311.00 as the maxitrturn allowed by
the State.
After a brief discussion, and review of the proposed language amending
Section 6-5.1 of the Kauai County Code the Commission unanimously

Announcements 'T'he next meeting is set for August 13, 2012, at 1:30 p.m. at the Mo'ikeha
Building, Liquor Conference Room 3. New agenda item would include a
representative from the Department of Parks and Recreation to be present
at the Commission's next meeting to provide an overview on what the
cunvnt fees are for usage of the County's neighborhood centers, stadium
facilities, and pavilions.
