SUBJECT DISCUSSION ACTION
Call To Order Chair Kanekoa called the meeting to order at
9:00 a.m. There was 6 Commissioner's present
to ascertain a quorum.
Public Ken Taylor, a member of the public,provided testimony. He voiced his
Testimony concerns that the County was in violation of its Charter in placing the
Chief of Police on leave and that he does not believe that the Mayor had
the authority to do what he did.
Chair Kanekoa thanked Mr. Taylor for his testimony.
Executive ES: 05 Pursuant to Hawai'i Revised Statutes, §92-4, 92-5(a) (2) and (4),
Session the purpose of this Executive Session is for Mayor Bernard P. Carvalho
Jr. to provide the Commission with a briefing regarding personnel and/or
disciplinary actions related to notarized complaint filed with the Police

SUBJECT DISCUSSION ACTION
Commission on 01/31/12, and for the Commission to further consider and
discuss said personnel and/or disciplinary actions. The purpose for this
Executive Session is also for the Commission to obtain a briefing and
consult with its attorney as to its powers, duties,privileges, immunities,
and liabilities as they relate to this agenda item.
ES: 06 Pursuant to Hawai'i Revised Statutes, §92-4 and 92-5 (a) (4), the
purpose of this Executive Session is for the Commission to consult with
its attorney as to its powers, duties, privileges, immunities, and liabilities
as they relate to Section 11.04 of the County of Kaua'i Charter.
ES: 07 Pursuant to Hawai'i Revised Statutes, §92-4 and 92-5 (a) (4), the
purpose of this Executive Session is for the Commission to consult with
its attorney as to its powers, duties, privileges, immunities, and liabilities
as they relate to Rule 6-1.f of the Rules of the Kaua'i County Police
Commission.
At 9:10 a.m. Chair Kanekoa called for the motion to enter in Executive Mr. Iona moved to enter in Executive Session.
Session. Mr. Nebre seconded the motion.
Motion carried 6:0
Return to Open At 10:50 a.m. the meeting reconvened.

Adjournment Chair Kanekoa called for the motion to adjourn the meeting. At 10:50 a.m. Mr. Iona moved to adjourn the
meeting. Mr. O'Connor seconded the motion.
