Recess and continuation of meeting for excursion to the North Shore area to view areas of community interest identified through the community input process as well as to become familiar with coastal and cultural resources in this area. There will be no decision making by the Commission. The excursion will leave the Uhu'e Civic Center at approximately 8:30 a.m. and then proceed to the following locations. • Moloa'a Bay-- arrive approximately 9.35am or soon thereafter • Ka'aka'aniu Beach via Moloa'a Road — arrive approximately 10:00am or soon there after • Kahili Bay— arrive approximately 11:00am or soon thereafter • Fish & Wildlife Service Overlook at Seacliff Plantation — arrive approximately 11:45am or soon thereafter • Princeville at Kapiolani Road —arrive approximately 1:45pm or soon thereafter • Princeville at Ka Haku Road — arrive approximately 2:25pm or soon thereafter Public testimony will not be taken during the excursion, but will be taken during agenda item IV B. (see below). The excursion may involve adjustments subject to weather/site conditions. Access to some sites is difficult and may involve strenuous hiking. Appropriate attire is essential. Transportation will not be provided for interested parties. B. Reconvene meeting at Uhu'e Civic Center at approximately 3:45 p.m. for a brief discussion of sites. There will be no decision making by the Commission. Public Testimony pertaining to the excursion will be taken at this time and the meeting will end at 4:30 p.m. If you are unable to attend this session, the public may submit written comments to the Open Space Commission, c/o the Planning Department, 4444 Rice Street, Suite A473, Uhu'e, HI 96766, and is also invited to attend the Open Space Commission's March 25, 2010 meeting to present further comments. Maps are available upon request at the Planning Department. V. Next Meeting Date and Agenda Topics for Discussion VI. Adjournment EXECUTIVE SESSION: The Commission may go into an executive session on an agenda item for one of the permitted purposes listed in section 92-5(a), HRS, without noticing the executive session on the agenda where the executive session was not anticipated in advance. Haw. Rev. Stat. § 92- 7(x). The executive session may only be held, however, upon an affirmative vote of two-thirds of the members present, which must also be the majority of the members to which the board is entitled. Haw. Rev. Stat. § 92-4.
