1. Recess and continuation of meeting for excursion to the North Shore area to
view areas of community interest identified through the community input
process as well as to become familiar with coastal and pultural resources in this
area. There will be no decision making by the Commission. The excursion will
leave the Kapaa Neighborhood Center at approximately 8:45 a.m. and the
proceed to the following locations:
• Aliomanu Drive—approx. 9:15 a.m. or shortly thereafter
b Papaa Bay—approx. 9:40 a.m. or shortly thereafter
t Moloaa Bay—approx. 10:25 a.m. or shortly thereafter
• Kaakaaniu, aka Larsen's Beach,Lepeuli (via Moloa`a Road) — approx.
11:00 a.m. or shortly thereafter
• Viewshed at Mile Marker 22 —(Drive by, along Kuhi`O Hwy.,Kilauea)
• Kahili Bay (via Wailapa Road)—approx. 11:45 a.m. or shortly thereafter
• FWS overlook at Seacliff Plantation—approx. 12:10 p.m. or shortly
thereafter
• Wanini (via `Anini Beach Road) —approx. 12:40pm or shortly thereafter
• Princeville Westin Hotel—approx. 1:30pm or shortly thereafter
• Queen's Bath(@ Kapiolani Road)--approx. 1:45pm or shortly thereafter
• Sea Lodge (drive by Kameharneha Road) —approx. 2:05pm or shortly
thereafter
• St. Regis (@ Ka Haku Road)—approx. 2:45pm or shortly thereafter
• Hanalei Pier, Hanalei Black Pot Beach Park Parking Lot—3:05pm or shortly

Public testimony will not be taken during the excursion. The public may submit
written comments to the Open Space Commission, c/o the Planning Department,
4444 Rice Street, Suite A473, Lihue, HI 96766; and is also invited to attend the
Open Space Commission's December 20, 2012 meeting. The excursion may involve
adjustments subject to weather/site conditions. Access to some sites is difficult and
may involve strenuous hiking. Appropriate attire is essential. Transportation will
not be provided for interested parties.
E. ADJOURNMENT
1. Reconvene meeting at Hanalei Black Pot Beach Park at approximately 3:15 p.m.
to adjourn. There will be no decision making by the Commission.
EXECUTIVE SESSION: The Commission may go into executive session on an agenda
item for one of the permitted purposes listed in Section 92-5(a)Hawai`i Revised Statutes
("HRS"), without noticing the executive session on the agenda where the executive session
was not anticipated in advtaice. HRS Section 924(a). The executive session may only be
held,however, upon an affirrhative vote of two-thirds of the members present, which must
also be the majority of the members to which the board is entitled. HRS Section 92-4. The
reason for holding the executive session shall be publicly announced.
