HomeMy WebLinkAboutG.I. 7-10-12 phn web COUNTY OF KAUAI PLANNING DEPARTMENT LIHUE, KAUAI NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, of a public hearing to be held by the County of Kauai Planning Commission at its regular meeting at the Lihue Civic Center, Mo'ikeha Building, Meeting Room 2A-2B, 4444 Rice Street, Lihue, Kauai on Tuesday, July 10, 2012, starting at 9:00 a.m., or soon thereafter to consider under the provisions of State Land Use Commission Rules and Regulations and provisions of Chapter 8 of the Kauai County Code 1987, as amended, the following: 1. Class IV Zoning Permit Z-IV-2012-20, Special Permit SP-2012-39 and Use Permit U-2012-16 to allow various site improvements to the National Tropical Botanical Gardens (NTBG) including the conversion of an existing tool shed into a Snack Shop, construction of a Comfort Station, Gardener's & Heavy Equipment Storage Facilities, Pedestrian & Vehicular Bridges, and trail & walkway enhancements on a parcel situated approx. 4,500 ft. south of the Lawa`i Highlands Estate Subdivision in Lawa`i, also referred to as the McBryde Garden, further identified as Tax Map Key 2-6-003: 052, and affecting a total area of approx. 5 acres. 2. Class IV Zoning Permit Z-IV-2012-19 and Use Permit U-2012-15 to allow establishment of an alternative home school facility on a parcel located in Lawa`i, Kaua'i, along the northern side of Koloa Road, situated near the Koloa Road/Lawa`i Loa Road intersection, further identified as Tax Map Key 2-6-003: 055, and containing .35 acres. All interested persons may present testimony for or against any application as public witnesses. Such testimony should be made in writing and presented to the Commission prior to the public hearing. Late written testimony may be submitted up to seven (7) days after the close of the public hearing in cases where the Commission does not take action on the same day the hearing was held. Any party may be represented by counsel if he or she so desires. In addition, individuals may appear on their own behalf, a member of a partnership may represent the partnership, and an officer or authorized employee of a corporation or trust or association may represent the corporation, trust or association. Petitions for intervenor status must be submitted to the Commission and the applicant at least seven (7) days prior to the date of the hearing advertised herein and shall be in conformance with Chapter 4 of the Rules of Practice and Procedure of the Planning Commission. Proposed plans and the Rules of Practice and Procedure of the Planning Commission are available for inspection at the Planning Department which is located at 4444 Rice Street, Lihue, Kauai.
