LIHUE, KAUAI
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, of a public hearing to be held by the County
of Kauai Planning Commission at its regular meeting at the Lihue Civic
Center, Mo'ikeha Building, Meeting Room 2A-213, 4444 Rice Street, Lihue,
Kauai on Tuesday, March 12, 2013, starting at 9:00 a.m., or soon thereafter to
consider under the provisions of Chapter 8 of the Kaua'i County Code 1987, as
amended, and State Land Use Commission Rules and Regulations, the
following:
1. Class IV Zoning Permit Z-IV-2013-11, Use Permit U-2013-10 and
Special Permit SP-2013-4 to construct a church facility that includes a meeting
hall (worship space), two (2) meeting rooms, restrooms, office and a pastor's
living quarters, on a parcel located in Po'ipn, along the western side of Ala
Kinoiki (Po'ipn Bypass Road) and immediately across its intersection with
Po'ipn Aina Place, further identified as Tax Map Key 2-8-022: 015, and
containing a total area of 2.946 acres.
2. Class IV Zoning Permit Z-IV-2013-12, Use Permit U-2013-11 and
Variance Permit V-2013-4 to allow installation and height variance for an 80 ft.
high monopine tower that includes twelve (12) panel antennas on a parcel
situated in Kilauea, along the western side of Kilauea Lighthouse Road,
immediately adjacent to the Kaua'i Christian Academy facility, further
identified as Tax Map Key 5-2-004: 102, and affecting a portion of a larger
parcel approx. 13.203 acres in size.
All interested persons may present testimony for or against any application
as public witnesses. Such testimony should be made in writing and presented
to the Commission prior to the public hearing. Late written testimony may be
submitted up to seven (7) days after the close of the public hearing in cases
where the Commission does not take action on the same day the hearing was
held.
Any party may be represented by counsel if he or she so desires. In
addition, individuals may appear on their own behalf, a member of a
partnership may represent the partnership, and an officer or authorized
employee of a corporation or trust or association may represent the
corporation, trust or association.
Petitions for intervenor status must be submitted to the Commission and
the applicant at least seven (7) days prior to the date of the hearing advertised
herein and shall be in conformance with Chapter 4 of the Rules of Practice and
Procedure of the Planning Commission.
Proposed plans and the Rules of Practice and Procedure of the Planning
Commission are available for inspection at the Planning Department which is
located at 4444 Rice Street, Lihue, Kauai.
