HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 2012-53COUNTY COUNCIL COUNTY OF KAUAI a"e5oCutiort N -53 RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING A NO- PARKING AT ANY TIME — FIRE LANE AND A TOW AWAY ZONE AT THE COUNTY OF KAUA`I'S PI`IKOI AND KAPULE BUILDINGS, LIHU`E CIVIC CENTER, LIHU`E DISTRICT, COUNTY OF KAUAI WHEREAS, Chapter 16, Article 2 of the Kauai County Code 1987, as amended, authorizes the County Council to determine and designate official traffic control devices; and WHEREAS, the County of Kauai's Pi`ikoi Building and Kdpule Building are located at the Lihu`e Civic Center, County of Kauai, State of Hawaii; and WHEREAS, the County Engineer, based on an engineering and traffic investigation, has recommended that a "No- Parking At Any Time — Fire Lane" and a "Tow Away Zone" be established at the County of Kauai's I hu`e Civic Center; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF KAUAI, STATE OF HAWAII THAT Section 1. The County Engineer or his representative shall post appropriate signs indicating "No Parking At Anytime — Fire Lane" and "Tow Away Zone" from the North parking lot entrance of the Kdpule Building to a point 230 feet East as shown in Exhibit "A" and Exhibit "A -1," which are attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference. Section 2. The County Engineer or his representative shall post appropriate signs indicating "No Parking At Any Time — Fire Lane" and "Tow Away Zone" from the Pi`ikoi Building Southwest corner to a point 240 feet East as shown in Exhibit "A" and Exhibit "A -1," which are attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference. Section 3. Any person convicted of violating said no parking zone restrictions shall be subject to the penalties prescribed in Section 16 -21.6 of the Kauai County Code 1987, as amended. In addition to the "No Parking" penalties imposed on the motorists, all vehicles found in violation of the "No Parking" sections above shall be towed away and stored subject to the penalties prescribed in Section 16 -9.12, Kauai County Code 1987, as amended.
