Home My WebLink AboutResolution No. 2014-06COUNTY COUNCIL COUNTY OF KAUAI C 01 ut t011 No2014 06 RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING CROSSWALKS ACROSS ULU MAIKA STREET AND KALEPA STREET, LIHUE DISTRICT, COUNTY OF KAUAI WHEREAS, Chapter 16, Article 2 of the Kaua`i County Code 1987, As Amended, authorizes the County Council to determine and designate official traffic control devices; and WHEREAS, 'Ulu Maika Street and Kalepa Street are located in the Lihu`e District, County of Kaua`i, State of Hawai`i; and WHEREAS, The County Engineer, based on an engineering and traffic investigation, has recommended that crosswalks be placed across 'Ulu Maika Street, and across Kalepa Street in the Lihu`e District; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF KAUAI, STATE OF HAWAII, THAT: SECTION 1. A pedestrian crosswalk be and is herebyestablished and made official across 'Ulu Maika Street at its intersection with Kalepa treet as shown on Exhibit "A" which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference. SECTION 2. A pedestrian crosswalk be and is herebyestablished and made official across Kalepa Street at its intersection with 'Ulu Maika treet as shown on Exhibit "A" which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference. SECTION 3. The County Engineer or his representative shall mark and post appropriate signs at the crosswalks established herein. SECTION 4. Any person convicted of violating any Traffic Code provision relatingto these crosswalks shall be subject to the penalties prescribed in Section 16-21.8 of the aua`i County Code 1987, as amended. SECTION 5. This Resolution shall take effect upon its approval and the posting of the appropriate signs and/or markings.
