HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 2014-19COUNTY COUNCIL COUNTY OF KAUAI 1keotutton No. p«-.9 RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING A SCHOOL BUS STOP ON MAULE ROAD, WAIMEA DISTRICT, COUNTY OF KAUAI WHEREAS, Chapter 16, Article 2 of the Kaua`i County Code 1987, as amended, authorizes the County Council to determine and designate official traffic control devices; and WHEREAS, Maule Road is in the Waimea District, County of Kaua`i, State of Hawai`i; and WHEREAS, the County Engineer, based on an engineering and traffic investigation, has recommended that a certain school bus stop be placed on County roadway on Maule Road, Waimea District; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF KAUAI, STATE OF HAWAII, THAT: SECTION 1. That a School Bus Stop be established and made official on Maule Road, Waimea District, County of Kaua`i, State of Hawai`i, as follows: 1. On the north-easterly shoulder of Maule Road approximately 60 feet north-west of its centerline intersection with Oma Road. SECTION 2. The County Engineer shall post a School Bus Stop sign at the pertinent location as described in Section 1 above, and as shown on the map attached hereto as Exhibit A and incorporated herein by reference. SECTION 3. Any person convicted of violating any provision relating to School Bus Stop, Sections 16-14.1 and 16-14.2, Chapter 16 of the Kaua`i County Code 1987, as amended, shall be subject to the penalties in Section 16-21.6, Chapter 16, of said Code.
SECTION 4. This resolution shall take effect upon its approval and the posting of the appropriate signs designating the School Bus Stop.
