HomeMy WebLinkAbout 04/17/2013 Housing & Transportation Committee minutes MINUTES HOUSING & TRANSPORTATION COMMITTEE April 17, 2013 A meeting of the Housing & Transportation Committee of the Council of the County of Kauai, State of Hawai`i, was called to order by Councilmember JoAnn A. Yukimura, Chair, at the Council Chambers, 4396 Rice Street, Suite 201, Lihu`e, Kaua`i, on Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at 9:01 a.m., after which the following members answered the call of the roll: Honorable Tim Bynum Honorable Gary L. Hooser Honorable Nadine K. Nakamura Honorable Mel Rapozo Honorable JoAnn A. Yukimura Honorable Ross Kagawa, Ex-Officio Member Honorable Jay Furfaro, Ex-Officio Member The Committee proceeded on its agenda items, as shown in the following Committee Reports which are incorporated herein by reference: CR-HT 2013-01: on HT 2013-01 Communication (03/13/2013) from Committee Chair Yukimura, requesting the presence of Mayela Sosa, Assistant Division Administrator, United States Department of Transportation —Federal Highway Administration, to p rovide an overview on the Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century Act (MAP-21) that was signed into law by President Barack Obama on July 6, 2012. [Received for the Record.] There being no objections, the Committee recessed at 11:02 p.m. The Committee reconvened at 4:07 p.m., and proceeded as follows: CR-HT 2013-02: on HT 2013-02 Communication (03/27/2013) from Committee Chair Yukimura, requesting agenda time to share a full—page feature story on the Ke Ala Hele Makalae Multi-Use Path that appeared in the March 9, 2013, edition of The Seattle Times Travel Section, as it relates to highlighting the value of the path for Kaua`i residents and the visitor industry.
