HomeMy WebLinkAbout 09/04/2013 Public Works/Parks & Recreation Committee minutes MINUTES PUBLIC WORKS / PARKS & RECREATION COMMITTEE September 4, 2013 A meeting of the Public Works / Parks & Recreation Committee of the Council of the County of Kaua`i, State of Hawai`i, was called to order by Councilmember Ross Kagawa, Chair, at the Council Chambers, 4396 Rice Street, Suite 201, Lihu`e, Kaua`i, on Wednesday, September 4, 2013, at 10:47 a.m., after which the following members answered the call of the roll: Honorable Tim Bynum (excused at 12:34 p.m.) Honorable Gary L. Hooser Honorable Nadine K. Nakamura Honorable JoAnn A. Yukimura Honorable Ross Kagawa Honorable Jay Furfaro, Ex-Officio Member (excused at 3:25 p.m.) Honorable Mel Rapozo, Ex-Officio Member There being no objections, the Committee recessed at 10:47 a.m. There being no objections, the Committee reconvened at 5:42 p.m., and proceeded as follows: Minutes of the August 7, 2013 Public Works / Parks & Recreation Committee Meeting. Upon motion duly made by Councilmember Yukimura, seconded by Councilmember Hooser, and unanimously carried, the Minutes of the August 7, 2013 Public Works / Parks & Recreation Committee Meeting was approved. The Committee proceeded on its agenda item, as shown in the following Committee Report which is incorporated herein by reference: PWPR 2013-16 Communication (07/19/2013) from Committee Chair Kagawa, requesting the presence of the Director of Parks and Recreation to provide an update on the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) improvements and food booth for Hanapepe Stadium. This briefing shall include the plans for a new ADA restroom behind the home team bleachers, as well as the plans for an ADA walkway and food booth which the Council approved in the County of Kaua`i's Capital Improvement Projects (CIP) Budget for Fiscal Year 2013-2014. [This item was deferred.] PWPR COMMITTEE MEETING 2 SEPTEMBER 4, 2013 Chair Kagawa: I would like to have members defer this item to the next Committee Meeting. Upon motion duly made by Mr. Hooser, seconded by Ms. Nakamura, and unanimously carried, PWPR 2013-16 was deferred.
