A BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. B-2013-753,
AS AMENDED, RELATING TO THE OPERATING BUDGET OF THE
COUNTY OF KAUAI, STATE OF HAWAII, FOR THE FISCAL YEAR
JULY 1, 2013 THROUGH JUNE 30, 2014, BY REVISING THE AMOUNTS
ESTIMATED IN THE GENERAL FUND AND SOLID WASTE DISPOSAL
FUND (Solid Waste Disposal Fund, Solid Waste Recycling —
Other Services - $700,000)
This Bill proposes to amend Ordinance No. B-2013-753, as amended, relating
to the Operating Budget of the County of Kaua`i, State of Hawai`i, for the Fiscal
Year July 1, 2013 through June 30, 2014, by transferring $700,000 from the
General Fund, Equity/Fund Balance — Unassigned to the Solid Waste Disposal
Fund for Solid Waste Recycling — Other Services.
The purpose of this Bill is to provide additional funding in the Solid Waste
Disposal Fund for Solid Waste Recycling — Other Services projects that are expected
to experience fund deficiencies before the end of the fiscal year as follows:

A BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. B-2013-753,
AS AMENDED, RELATING TO THE OPERATING BUDGET OF THE
COUNTY OF KAUAI, STATE OF HAWAII, FOR THE FISCAL YEAR
JULY 1, 2013 THROUGH JUNE 30, 2014, BY REVISING THE AMOUNTS
ESTIMATED IN THE GENERAL FUND (Department of Finance —
Administration, Special Projects — Kaua`i Humane Society
(Cat Licensing Fees) - $10,000)
The purpose of this Bill is to amend Ordinance No. B-2013-753, as amended,
relating to the Operating Budget of the County of Kaua`i, State of Hawai`i, for the
fiscal year July 1, 2013 to June 30, 2014, by revising the surplus and appropriations
estimated in the General Fund by $10,000 in account 001-0000-413.14-00 (Licenses
& Permits/Cats) and transferring it to account 001-0501-512.35-00 (Special
Projects-Kaua`i Humane Society). This amendment provides for an accounting of
both the additional revenues anticipated to be collected, as well as the offsetting
expenditures, that are a result of Ordinance No. 965 which established the Cat
Licensing Program. Net proceeds collected will be returned to the Kaua`i Humane
Society for their assistance in administering the Cat Licensing Program in
accordance with their contract with the County of Kaua`i.
All interested persons who wish to present their comments may do so at the
public hearing. Written testimony prior to the hearing would be appreciated.
Copies of the proposed Bills are available at the Office of the County Clerk, Council
Services Division.
(The Council Committee or Council may amend these Bills at its subsequent
meetings. Meeting notices are posted at least six (6) days in advance at the County
Clerk's Office and the public may also testify at any of these meetings.)
