The purpose of this bill is to comply with Act 114, Section 2, which was enacted in 2012 by the Hawaii State Legislature, by exempting certain building or structures located on commercial farms from the requirement of obtaining a building permit under certain conditions. The purpose of Act 114 is to encourage and support diversified agriculture and agricultural self — sufficiency in the State by providing an exemption to building permit requirements for non - residential buildings or structures at commercial farms and ranches located outside the Urban District under certain conditions. All interested persons who wish to present their comments may do so at the public hearing. Written testimonies prior to the hearing would be appreciated. Copies of the proposed Bill are available at the Office of the County Clerk, Council Services Division. (The Council Committee or Council may amend this Bill at its subsequent meetings. Meeting notices are posted at least 6 days in advance at the County Clerk's Office and the public may also testify at any of these meetings.)
