Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at 8:30 a.m., or soon thereafter, at the Council Chambers, 4396 Rice
Street, Suite 201, Historic County Building, Lihu'e, on the following:

A BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 5A, KAUA'I COUNTY CODE 1987, AS AMENDED,
RELATING TO REAL PROPERTY TAXES
The purpose of this Bill is to shift the allocation of taxes among the different tax classes in order
to benefit the homeowners in the County of Kaua'i. The proposed amendments provide tax relief to
homeowners by increasing the amount of the homeowners' exemption provided for in Section 5A-
11.4, repeals Section 5A -9.3 related to the Permanent Home Use Tax Limit for Home Exemption
Properties, introduces a Home Preservation Tax Limit and modifies the Credit Union Exemption. The
