Comm.l`lo. 86 ' • 'i S , ..... • • P. � � Date ., / / k-kP `%‘ • NOTICE OF PUBLICATION AND NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING Notice is hereby given that the Council of the County of Kaua'i will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at 1:30 p.m., or soon thereafter, at the Council Chambers, 4396 Rice Street, Suite 201, Historic County Building, Lihu'e, on the following: Resolution No. 2013 -47, Draft 1 RESOLUTION DETERMINING THE COUNTY OF KAUA'I FUEL TAX RATE AND REPEALING RESOLUTION NO. 2004 -06, DRAFT 2 In accordance with Hawai'i Revised Statutes (HRS) Section 243 -5, as amended, and Section 5- 1.1, Kaua'i County Code 1987, as amended, the purpose of this resolution is to repeal Resolution No. 2004 -06, Draft 2 and to increase the fuel tax levied and collected from thirteen cents (134) per gallon to sixteen cents (164) per gallon for liquid fuel effective July 1, 2013; to seventeen cents (174) per gallon for liquid fuel effective July 1, 2014; and to nineteen cents (194) per gallon for liquid fuel effective July 1, 2015. The amount of fuel tax collected from four cents (44) shall be used exclusively for the improvement and operation of The Kaua'i Bus. All interested persons who wish to present their comments may do so at the public hearing. Written testimonies prior to the hearing would be appreciated. Copies of the proposed resolution are available at the Office of the County Clerk, Council Services Division. (The Council Committee or Council may amend this resolution at its subsequent meetings. Meeting notices are posted at least six (6) days in advance at the Office of the County Clerk, Council Services Division and the public may also testify at any of these meetings.)
