HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 2016-59COUNTY COUNCIL COUNTY OF KAUA’I e 0 luti 0 fl No.2016-59 RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING A SCHOOL BUS STOP ON OLOHENA ROAD IN THE VICINITY OF ITS INTERSECTION WITH WAIPOULI ROAD,KAWAIHAU DISTRICT,COUNTY OF KAUA’I WHEREAS,Chapter 16,Article 2 of the Kaua’i County Code 1987,as amended authorizes the County Council to determine and designate official traffic devices;WHEREAS,Olohena Road is in the Kawaihau District,County of Kaua’i,State of Hawai’i;and WHEREAS,The County Engineer,based on an engineering and traffic investigation,has recommended that a school bus stop be placed on Olohena Road in the vicinity of its intersection with Waipouli Road,Kawaihau District;now,therefore,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF KAUA’I,STATE OF HAWAI’I THAT:SECTION 1.A school bus stop shall be established and made official on Olohena Road,Kawaihau District,County of Kaua’i,State of Hawai’i,as follows:1.On the northerly shoulder of Olohena Road,approximately 125 feet east of its centerline intersection with Waipouli Road.SECTION 2.The County Engineer shall post a school bus stop sign at the pertinent location as described in Section 1 above,and as shown on the map attached hereto as Exhibit “A”and incorporated herein by reference.SECTION 3.Any person convicted of violating the provisions relating to school bus stops,Sections 16-14.1 and 16-14.2,Chapter 16 of the Kaua’i County Code 1987,as amended,shall be subject to the penalties in Section 16-21.6,Chapter 16 of said Code.
