PRINTING SERVICES & ELECTIONS WAREHOUSE SPECIALIST 1.446
Duties Summary:
Oversees the activities of and perform administrative tasks
associated with the County's printing services unit; assists in
the conduct and coordination of the elections program, and
warehouse management for elections operations; and performs
other related duties as required.
Distinguishing Characteristics:
This single position class is responsible for overseeing
the production of the County's printing services unit, and
operating a variety of printing, reproduction, and related
equipment to provide reproduced County documents. In addition,
it is responsible for providing specialized clerical and
technical support essential for the overall functions of the
elections program, including elections warehousing operations.
Examples of Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversees printing services unit operations by consulting
with users, and providing functional and technical advice;
determines work priorities for requests from users; makes
adjustments and minor repairs of equipment; performs all phase
of duplicating operations as needed; orders parts and supplies
for equipment; may print confidential or sensitive materials;
keeps stock of inventory warehouse; stores and maintains
equipment /supply shipments; assists in training of new or entry
level elections personnel; oversees the preparation,
distribution, and collection of precinct supplies and equipment;
determines precinct equipment and supply requirements; responds
to requests for special polling place equipment and supplies;
assists in the verification of seals used to secure ballot
transport containers and proofing of ballots to detect printing
errors and /or abnormalities; assists with the inventory,
storage, and security of ballots, and the preparation of ballotE
for early voting services; assists with the recruitment,
training, and supervision of election day trouble shooters;
coordinates the rental and assignment of vehicles used by
various delivery and collection officials and trouble shooters;
schedules routine maintenance of the Elections Division's van;

assists with early voting and absentee mail operations; may
assist with voter registration and voter education services.
Minimum Qualification Requirements for the Class:
Training and Experience: A combination of education and
experience substantially equivalent to graduation from high
school and four 4 years of clerical experience, including two
(2) years in the operation of printing presses, and two (2)
years in an elections program.
License Requirement: Possession of a valid motor vehicle
operator's license as required.
Knowledge of: capabilities, methods, and techniques of
operation of various printing service; the service and
maintenance requirements of various printing machines; election
laws, rules, regulations, and ordinances; office practices and
procedures.
Ability to: plan and supervise printing services work;
operate and make minor repairs to various printing machines;
understand and interpret elections laws, ordinances, rules,
regulations, and policies; compare names and numbers accurately;
set up and maintain files, keep records and prepare reports;
give oral and written instructions; deal tactfully and
effectively with others.
Health and Physical Condition Requirement:
Persons seeking appointment to positions in this class must
meet the health and physical condition standards deemed
necessary and proper for performance of the duties.
Special Working Conditions: Irregular hours, including
shift, seasonal and holiday, and weekend work as required.
This is the first specification approved for the new class
