Our investigation revealed that the net was probably abandoned for about three days because of high surf and strong winds, and it contained live and dead sea life. Kauai County Lifeguards David Duncan and Kainoa Numazawa were instrumental in assisting our Officers in recovering the net, and freeing the sea life. Because of their knowledge and expertise it made our job easier and safer. The Kauai Division of Conservation and Resource Enforcement (DOCARE) would like to acknowledge and commend these two Kauai County Lifeguards for their cooperation and dedication in keeping Kauai safe. &90" Brad "Kipi" Akana TA East District Supervisor • t t T".Y-vl IT v rf-iwz-r ,-v E->c.me; j raw T7 -nb R7, Ayy\ 'f' ) VAY 0 8 ?6V From Sent:ue day--Vfay 1$", Q3T1D:1AMr To: Kauai Fire Department Public Email <kfd@kauai.sov> Subject: Appreciation Dear Robert, My wife and I were recently rescued from the Makeleha trail when the stream became flooded and dangerous within minutes.
