Executive Session Ms. Hahn moved to go into Executive Session at 2:01 p.m. Mr. Iida seconded the motion. Motion carried 6:0. Return to Open Session Ratify Commission actions taken in Executive Session for items: ES-011, ES-012 and ES-013 The meeting resumed in Open Session at 2:59 p.m. Mr. Iida moved to ratify the Commission’s actions taken in Executive Session for items ES-011, ES-012 and ES-013. Ms. Matsumoto seconded the motion. Motion carried 6:0. Approval of Minutes Open Session Minutes of September 26, 2017 Mr. Iida moved to approve the minutes of September 26, 2017 Civil Service Commission Open Session October 24, 2017 Page 2 SUBJECT DISCUSSION ACTION as circulated. Ms. Faulkner seconded the motion. Motion carried 6:0 Director’s Reports CSC 2017-11 2017 October Janine Rapozo Director of Human Resources shared with the Commission that the County Council approved Unit 1 United Public Workers contract on October 18th. Their first award will be on November 1st with no retroactive pay. SHOPO’s award will be finalized next week, and Unit 14 Water Safety Officers arbitration is set for January 2018. Ms. Faulkner inquired about the low ratio of exit interviews based on the information provided by Human Resources that 4 interviews out of 8 terminations were conducted. Ms. Faulkner inquired about the low ratio of exit interviews conducted. Based on the information provided, Human Resources conducted 4 interviews out of 8 terminations and Ms. Faulkner wanted to know what Human Resources did with those who did not respond. Ms. Rapozo provided that the count indicated that those individuals did not complete the exit survey; however, they were provided information about retirement, medical, and benefits. She said those who did not complete the survey were mailed a copy and encouraged to fill it out and mail it back. With no further questions for Ms. Rapozo, Chair Jose moved to announcements. Adjournment Mr. Iida moved to adjourn the meeting at 3:06 p.m. Ms. Matsumoto seconded the motion. Motion carried 6:0.
