Kekaha residents asked to continue water conservation until further notice
KEKAHA – The Department of Water (DOW) is requesting all Kekaha residents to continue water
conservation measures until further notice. DOW crews are continuing to work on emergency repairs to
a main line break that is affecting the main feed of the town’s water source.
Residents and businesses are asked to limit water consumption to essential uses only, in order to avoid a
water outage.
Essential water uses include cooking, bathing and toilet flushing. Water conservation measures include
refraining from car washing, turning off automatic outdoor irrigation and sprinkler systems, and using
water wisely both indoors and outdoors.
The main line break is located on Kokee Road, near the Menehune Food Mart. The DOW now anticipates
the emergency repairs to complete by approximately noon, Friday, Feb. 10. Updates to the timeline of
repairs will be available on www.facebook.com/KauaiDOW or by calling 245-5455.
Motorists are advised to drive carefully through the area.
The DOW thanks all residents and visitors for their patience and cooperation.
A final notice will be sent when the conservation request has been lifted.
