DOW to launch new online Customer Service Portal, April 10
LIHUE – In an effort to improve customer service, the Department of Water (DOW) will provide online
self-service features through its new “Customer Service Portal,” starting Monday, April 10.
“The new Customer Service Portal will be an opportunity for customers to go online and ask questions,
and obtain information from our staff,” said Kirk Saiki, DOW’s manager and chief engineer. “Online
requests can be as simple as applying for water service, or something more complex such as determining
the requirements for installing a water meter.”
DOW’s Customer Service Portal will mainly serve as a webpage where customers can make and track
service requests, and interact with staff through online chat sessions.
Online payments will not be available on the Customer Service Portal yet, however the DOW is currently
working on providing that feature by late 2017.
“We understand our customers’ need for online payment options, and we are working hard to make that
feature a reality later this year,” said Marites Yano, DOW’s waterworks controller. “Until then, we
encourage customers to utilize this new online service portal as an alternative to standing in line or calling
our office.”
To visit the DOW’s new Customer Service Portal starting Monday, April 10, visit www.kauaiwater.org and
