Water shutdown scheduled for Puhi area on June 15
PUHI – The Department of Water (DOW) has scheduled a water shutdown for customers located in the
Puhi industrial area between Puhi Road and Haleukana Street, including select customers on Hanalima
Street. Water will be turned off on Thursday, June 15 from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m. Friday, June 16, weather
permitting.
The seven-hour water shutdown will allow contractor, Cushnie Construction Company, Inc. to connect a
newly installed 8 inch water line to the existing system.
Affected customers are advised to store enough water to meet their needs during this scheduled water
shutdown.
After the water main is turned back on, air and or existing sediment may be mixed into the water
causing it to appear white or discolored. This is normal, and if it occurs, customers may flush water
out through an outside hose bib until the water is clear.
The DOW has notified affected customers via door to door notices.
