Kaua‘i DMV services restored to normal
LĪHU‘E – The computer issue that impacted Kaua‘i’s motor vehicle and licensing
services this week has been resolved, and all services have been restored to normal as of
Thursday.
“We appreciate the public’s patience throughout this week’s unanticipated disruption to
our motor vehicle and licensing system,” said Mayor Bernard P. Carvalho Jr. “I would like to
extend a big Mahalo to our county’s Motor Vehicle Registration, Driver’s License and
Information Technology staff for their attentiveness and hard work throughout this situation.”
All services for driver’s licenses, state IDs and vehicle registrations are now functioning
normally.
In order to accommodate those impacted by this week’s computer disruption, vehicle
owners whose registrations expire on June 30 have been granted an extension until July 7.
To avoid a late fee, walk-in or mailed payments must be received or postmarked no later
than July 7.
For more information on Motor Vehicle Registration, call 241-4256. For Driver’s License
inquiries, call 241-4242.
