Brush fire extinguished in Anahola
ANAHOLA – Kaua‘i firefighters responded to a brush fire in Anahola on Sunday
afternoon.
No injuries were reported and no structures were threatened.
At approximately 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, personnel from the Kaiakea and Kapa‘a fire
stations were dispatched to an open area owned by the Department of Hawaiian Home Lands.
On scene, firefighters found heavy brush and grass burning on the makai-side of Kūhiō
Highway, across from the Anahola solar farm. Air 1 assisted firefighters and provided water
drops to the roughly 3.5-acre fire.
The fire was fully extinguished and the scene was cleared at approximately 5:30 p.m.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
