County announces holiday closures
LĪHU‘E – In observance of Statehood Day, County of Kaua‘i offices will be closed on
Friday, Aug. 18, along with all refuse transfer stations and the Kekaha Landfill.
In addition, the Kapa‘a and Waimea swimming pools and all neighborhood centers will
be closed for the holiday.
Puhi Metals Recycling Center will remain open on Statehood Day, as well as the HI-5
bottle redemption centers. As a reminder, the Kaua‘i Resource Center is closed and will not be
accepting household batteries or conducting the usual Friday Backyard Composting Bin
Distribution.
Residential refuse pick-up will continue as scheduled.
Although the Kaua‘i Bus will be operating on Statehood Day, it will be running on a
modified schedule.
Normal business hours for county offices and services will resume on Monday, Aug. 21.
