It was standing room only at the September 6, 2017 Council Meeting when the Bill was heard on first reading, with over 40 people testifying before the Council. “We recognize that it is important for members of the public to be able to make their voice heard. Moving the Council Meeting to a larger facility will help to ensure that the public will have adequate space to view the proceedings as well as testify,” said Council Chair Mel Rapozo. All interested persons who wish to present their comments may do so at the public hearing. Written testimony may be submitted to the Office of the County Clerk, Council Services Division by mail, facsimile, or via E-mail to counciltestimony@kauai.gov. Copies of the proposed Bill and all other agenda items are available at the Office of the County Clerk, Council Services Division and posted on the County’s website. Due to limited resources at KWMCH, members of the public should submit written testimony in advance or prepare at least 10 copies to be distributed to Councilmembers and Council Staff at the public hearing. For those who cannot attend the Council Meeting, the meeting will be available for archived viewing after the meeting has ended on the County’s website, www.kauai.gov as well as televised on Ho‘ike Channel 53.
