Police operation leads to arrest of 10 fugitives
KAPA‘A – The Kaua‘i Police Department’s Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (FAST)
along with members of the State of Hawai‘i Sheriff Division conducted a special mission of the
Kapa‘a area on Wednesday, which led to multiple arrests.
During the operation, 10 subjects were arrested for 13 warrants, totaling $12,800 in bail.
The arrest warrants ranged from traffic charges to Felony Grand Jury Indictments.
The following arrest warrants were issued:
Brisen Bermoy, age 34 of Kōloa, Revocation/Modification of Probation Warrant;
Damien Butac, age 18 of Hanamā‘ulu, Contempt of Court Warrant;
Stephanie Dial, age 41 of Līhu‘e, two warrants for Contempt of Court;
Dayne Kaneakua, age 22 of Wailua, Contempt of Court Warrant;
John McCann, age 42 of Hanalei, Failure to Appear Warrant;
David O’Rourke, age 64 of Wailua, Felony Grand Jury Indictment Warrant;
Akauola Tea, age 35 of Kapa‘a, two warrants for Contempt of Court and one
warrant for Revocation/Modification of Probation;
Maro Valveija, age 35 of Kapa‘a, Failure to Appear Warrant;
Darren White, age 47 of Wailua, Contempt of Court Warrant;
Lisa Wong, age 37 of Wailua, Failure to Appear Warrant.
“KPD is committed to continue collaborative operations in an effort to reduce the amount
of active warrants on Kaua‘i,” said Assistant Chief of the Patrol Services Bureau Roy Asher.
“We urge anyone with active warrants to take care of them or turn themselves in, and avoid
being arrested at quite possibly the most inopportune times.”
