Managing Director KAUA‘I POLICE DEPARTMENT News Release For Immediate Release: October 25, 2017 DARRYL PERRY, CHIEF Tel (808) 241-1600 Fax (808) 241-1604 Kaua‘i police capture one KCCC escapee WAILUA – Kaua‘i police officers apprehended one inmate who escaped from Kaua‘i Community Correctional Center (KCCC) on Wednesday afternoon, and continue to search for the second wanted fugitive. Police located and apprehended Joshua Preston, age 36 of Līhu‘e, at approximately 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at Wailua Golf Course. He remains in police custody. Police continue to search for Kamoelii Kolo, age 35 of Anahola. He is 5-feet 6-inches tall and weighs 165 pounds, and has black hair and brown eyes. At approximately 1:16 p.m. police were notified by KCCC that Kolo and Preston had escaped from the facility grounds. Roughly 20 police officers and Air 1 responded in the search for the escapees. Kolo should be considered dangerous and should not be approached. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to call 911 immediately. ###
