Anahola man arrested following Keālia crash
KEĀLIA – A 34-year-old Anahola man was arrested Tuesday evening following a three-
car crash that temporarily closed Kūhiō Highway in Keālia, and resulted in injuries.
According to police, Kevin Wilson was traveling north on Kūhiō Highway in a Ford pickup
truck, near the Keālia Kai subdivision, at about 6:45 p.m. when he crossed the center line and
crashed head-on with a Toyota pickup truck heading south, and then struck an oncoming SUV.
The driver of the Toyota pickup truck, a 24-year-old man from Kapa‘a, sustained serious
injuries and was transported to Wilcox Hospital where he currently remains.
The 33-year-old female driver of the SUV and a 5-year-old female passenger, both from
Kapa‘a, were transported to Wilcox Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. They have since
been treated and released.
Wilson sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene. He was later arrested for
first degree Negligent Injury, and Operating a Vehicle Under the Influence of an Intoxicant
(OVUII). He has since been Released Pending Investigation.
Kūhiō Highway was closed in both directions until approximately 10:45 p.m. Traffic was
diverted on Keālia Road during the closure.
The investigation remains ongoing.
