Managing Director News Release For Immediate Release: December 28, 2017 Committee on the Status of Women opens lending library LĪHU‘E – The Kaua‘i Committee on the Status of Women (KCSW) has opened a lending library of best-selling, self-help books that are now available to the general public. The committee’s lending library has over 35 titles intended to spark happiness, inspire creativity and strengthen both personal and professional relationships. “These books are a valuable resource for women looking to improve their lives by gaining a better understanding of themselves and finding the motivation to take action,” stated Committee Chairwoman Sharon Lasker. Some of the books in the lending library include: “Lean In,” by Sheryl Sandberg; “Big Magic: Creative Living Beyond Fear,” by Elizabeth Gilbert; and “The Happiness Project,” by Gretchen Rubin. The books in the lending library can be checked out Monday to Friday, 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the County of Kaua‘i Office of Boards and Commissions at 4444 Rice Street, Suite 150 in Līhu‘e. The KCSW is part of the Hawai‘i State Commission on the Status of Women, which strives to advance the status of women and girls by acting as a catalyst for positive change through advocacy, education, collaboration and program development.
