Police arrest several suspects for break-ins, theft
Kaua‘i police have made a several arrests in recent weeks related to thefts and break-
ins that have occurred across the island. Police continue to urge residents and visitors to be
vigilant, and report suspicious or illegal activity immediately.
“Our detectives and patrol officers are committed to apprehending those responsible for
crimes that are occurring across our island,” stated Police Chief Darryl Perry. “We are pleased
with the recent arrests but know there are others who need to be held accountable for their
actions, and we look forward to the continued partnership with our community to locate
suspects.”
The most recent arrest occurred on March 20, when Kaz Alcos, a 28-year-old Līhu‘e
man, was arrested for unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle in the Kapa‘a area.
Alika Say was arrested on February 21 on an arrest warrant. The Kīlauea man, age 19,
is also suspected of attempting to burglarize two Kapa‘a businesses.
Devin Glaze, age 21, of Kapa‘a, was arrested on February 10 on suspicion of fraudulent
use of a credit card and second-degree forgery. These crimes were committed in the Līhu‘e
area.
Two individuals were arrested on February 9 for unauthorized control of a propelled
vehicle in separate incidents. Ezekial Bagano, a 19-year-old Kapa‘a man, is suspected of
stealing a car in the Kapa‘a area, which was later recovered. Louis Walthers is suspected of
stealing an ATV in Waimea, which was later located and returned to the owner. The 58-year-old
Hanapēpē man was also picked up for third-degree theft. He has since been extradited to
California on unrelated charges.
On February 7, 36-year-old Savan Tuazon, of Anahola, was arrested for multiple counts
related to ID and credit card theft, fraud, and forgery.
Police also arrested Egon Kalama Silva Jr on February 4. Silva Jr. is also accused of
stealing an ATV in the Waimea area, which has not yet been located.
KPD is now working with the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney in their ongoing
investigation of these crimes. The public is reminded that all individuals are presumed innocent
unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
