County hosts Drug Take Back Day
LĪHU'E – The Kaua`i Police Department (KPD) is once again partnering with Life’s
Choices Kaua`i to collect unused, unwanted, or expired prescription medications and other
drugs on National Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, April 29, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at KPD
headquarters, located at 3990 Ka`ana Street in Lihue.
Tablets, capsules, and all other solid dosage forms of medication including patches are
accepted. New or used needles and syringes and liquid forms are not accepted.
This service is free and anonymous and no questions will be asked.
Drug Take Back Day is part of a national initiative coordinated by U.S. Drug
Enforcement Agency (DEA) which focuses on providing a safe, convenient, and responsible
method of disposing of medications, while also educating the community about the potential for
abuse and consequences of improper storage and disposal.

at www.dea.gov, or contact Lt. James Rodriguez with the Kaua'i Police Department at 241-
