Anahola brush fire under control
ANAHOLA – A brush fire that broke out in Anahola at approximately 12:30 p.m. is now
under control, according to fire officials.
No injuries were reported and no structures were threated.
Air 1 and a private helicopter assisted firefighters from the Kapa‘a and Kaiākea fire
stations in controlling the blaze, which was located across the highway from the Anahola solar
farm.
Kūhiō Highway was closed in both directions for roughly 15 minutes, to allow crews to
battle the fire as it approached the highway. The highway was reopened at approximately 2:25
p.m.
Roughly 20 acres of brush was scorched.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
