A meeting of the Planning Committee of the County of Kaua`i, State of

1:30 p.m., after which the following members answered the call of the roll:

Honorable KipuKai Kuali`i
Honorable Mason K. Chock
Excused: Honorable JoAnn A. Yukimura, Ex-Officio Member
Honorable Mel Rapozo, Ex-Officio Member
Minutes of the February 4, 2015 Special Planning Committee Meeting.
Upon motion duly made by Councilmember Kagawa, seconded by
Councilmember Kuali`i, and unanimously carried, the Minutes of the
February 4, 2015 Special Planning Committee Meeting was approved.
The Committee proceeded on its agenda item, as follows:
Bill No. 2571 A BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING
PROCEDURES, DEVELOPMENT PLANS, AND FUTURE
GROWTH AREAS FOR THE LIHU`E PLANNING
DISTRICT (This item was Deferred.)
Committee Chair Chock: Members, before we take a vote on this, we
did get a communication from the Planning Director for a deferral. There are a
couple of different reasons why. We have more work to be done on it with
amendments that we would like to see placed in a matrix. That will be forthcoming.
The other is that we would like to offer Councilmember Kaneshiro a little bit more
time. I think he is going to get some feedback from the Board of Ethics or Ethics
Commission on his participation on this plan. We would like to see as many
Councilmembers be a part of this process as possible; therefore, the request is for a
deferral to the March 4, 2015 Committee Meeting. Are there any questions or
requests? If we are in agreement, I will call for public testimony. Would anyone
like to testify on this item at this time for the Lihu`e Plan? Seeing none, discussion?
Councilmember Kagawa.
Councilmember Kagawa: Do you need a motion to defer?
Committee Chair Chock: Yes, please.
Councilmember Kagawa moved to defer Bill No. 2571, seconded by
Councilmember Kuali`i, and unanimously carried.
PL COMMITTEE MEETING 2 FEBRUARY 18, 2015
Committee Chair Chock: Thank you. This item is deferred to
March 4, 2015. That concludes the business of the Planning Committee.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 1:32 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
