HomeMy WebLinkAbout 10/14/2015 Public Works/Parks & Recreation Committee minutes MINUTES PUBLIC WORKS / PARKS & RECREATION COMMITTEE October 14, 2015 A meeting of the Public Works / Parks & Recreation Committee of the Council of the County of Kauai, State of Hawai`i, was called to order by Ross Kagawa, Chair, at the Council Chambers, 4396 Rice Street, Suite 201, Lihu`e, Kaua`i, on Wednesday, October 14, 2015, at 8:31 a.m., after which the following Members answered the call of the roll: Honorable Arryl Kaneshiro Honorable Mason K. Chock Honorable KipuKai Kuali`i Honorable JoAnn A. Yukimura (present at 8:32 a.m.) Honorable Ross Kagawa Honorable Gary L. Hooser, Ex-Officio Member Honorable Mel Rapozo, Ex-Officio Member Minutes of the September 23, 2015 Public Works / Parks & Recreation Committee Meeting. Upon motion duly made by Councilmember Chock, seconded by Councilmember Kaneshiro, and unanimously carried, the Minutes of the September 23, 2015 Public Works / Parks & Recreation Committee Meeting was approved. The Committee proceeded on its agenda items, as shown in the following Committee Reports, which are incorporated herein by reference: CR-PWPR 2015-14: on PWPR 2015-05 Communication (08/05/2015) from Council Chair Rapozo, requesting the presence of the County Engineer, to provide an update on Kapaia Swinging Bridge and the efforts of the Administration to work with the Kapaia Foundation. (Received for the Record.) (Note: The Committee was in recess from 8:58 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. during discussion on PWPR 2015-05.) PWPR COMMITTEE MEETING 2 OCTOBER 14, 2015 CR-PWPR 2015-15: on PWPR 2015-07 Communication (09/25/2015) from Committee Chair Kagawa, requesting the presence of the County Engineer, to provide a briefing regarding transfer station operations to include, but not be limited to, the following: • Status report on the deteriorated compactors located at the Hanalei, Kapa`a, and Hanapepe refuse transfer stations; and • Recap detailing the factors that determined the need to modify the hours of operation at all transfer stations. (Received for the Record.) (Note: The Committee was in recess from 10:33 a.m. to 10:44 a.m. during discussion on PWPR 2015-07.)
