Managing Director LYLE TABATA, ACTING COUNTY ENGINEER Tel (808) 241-4996 Fax (808) 241-6604 Solid Waste Division flood -debris management update The county's Solid Waste Division advises residents of the following flood -related debris management updates. Wainiha-Hd'ena: • County officials will collect flood -related debris for Wainiha-Ha'ena residents on an ongoing basis. All flood -related debris should be separated and placed on the county's right of way in front of your own property (see image below for instructions). Collections will be properly separated at the county's staging site at Kepuhi Point, located near the old Ha'ena school on the mauka side of Kuhio Highway, just south of the Hanalei Colony Resort. • As of Friday, May 18, residents may now bring their flood -related debris to the county's staging site at Kepuhi Point. The site will be staffed daily from 8 a.m. to noon, and from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. • Starting Saturday, May 19, Wainiha-Ha'ena residents may also use refuse bins staged at the Waikoko checkpoint for bagged trash only. Residents are encouraged to bag and dispose their own trash when possible. • Household trash collection for Wainiha-Ha'ena residents will continue on Sundays. Residents are asked to place bagged refuse in their carts the night prior. Bagged refuse can also be placed at curbside if residents do not have carts. • All refuse transfer stations islandwide have resumed normal services. The public is encouraged to utilize the transfer stations when possible. All Other Flood -Affected Areas: • County officials will collect flood -related debris from all other residents on a needed basis. Please call 241-4841 to coordinate flood -related debris pick-up. All flood - related debris should be separated and placed on the county's right of way in front of your own property (see image below for instructions). • All refuse transfer stations islandwide have resumed normal services. The public is encouraged to utilize the transfer stations when possible. • Residents are also encouraged to use their own contracted commercial hauler for debris removal when possible.
