Water service shutdown reminder for customers on Anini Road on Jan. 25
KILAUEA—The Department of Water (DOW) reminds customers located on Anini Road in
Kilauea of a water service shutdown scheduled for tomorrow, January 25th from 9 a.m. to 4
p.m., weather permitting.
The seven -hour water shutdown is necessary in order to allow Princeville Utilities Company,
Inc. to perform the required repairs to a leak in their water mainline.
During a water shutdown, affected customers are advised to take the following steps:
• Store enough water to meet your needs during the shutdown.
• Those with faulty water heaters should ensure that water heaters do not empty during
the shutdown.
• Notify family, friends and neighbors that may be affected by the shutdown.
• After the water main is turned back on, air and or existing sediment may be mixed into
the water causing it to appear white or discolored. This is normal, and if it occurs,
customers may flush water out through an outside hose bib until the water is clear.
• To monitor updates online, visit www.facebook.com/KauaiDOW.
As a courtesy, DOW will be providing a trailer -mounted water tank with potable water along
Anini Road during the service shutdown. Customers will need to bring their own containers.
For more information, please call the Department of Water at 245-5461.
