Police arrest woman for suspected arson
LIHU'E — Kaua'i police arrested a LThu`e woman after she reportedly set fire to a LThu'e
residence early Tuesday morning.
June Rodriguez, age 70, was arrested for Arson in the third degree.
At approximately 2:15 a.m. Tuesday, firefighters and police were dispatched to a unit on
Hoala Street, after receiving a report of a structure fire.
When responders arrived, the fire was already extinguished and had been confined to
the resident's front door and door mat.
A preliminary investigation led to the arrest of Rodriguez, who is currently being held in
Police Cellblock in lieu of $1,000 bail.
Damage to the structure and its contents is estimated at approximately $500.
