REZENTES JR Managing Director ROBERT WESTERMAN, CHIEF Tel (808) 241-4980 Fax (808) 241-6508 Ocean Safety officials advising no swimming at Po`ipu Beach POIPU — Ocean Safety Bureau officials are advising no swimming at Po'ipu Beach today, due a strong and dangerous rip current as well as high surf. Lifeguards at Po'ipu Beach are reporting surf heights between 4-8 feet and higher. A High Advisory remains in effect for all east -facing shores until 6 a.m. Friday, as strong winds and ocean conditions continue to generate rough surf along east shores, according to the National Weather Service. Ocean Safety officials are also urging beachgoers to exercise caution and consult lifeguards before entering the ocean.
