REZENTES JR Managing Director KEN SHIMONISHI, DIRECTOR Tel (808) 241-4200 Fax (808) 241-6499 Motor vehicle registration renewal service offered online and via mail LIHU`E — County of Kauai officials are reminding the public that the motor vehicle registration renewal service is available online at www.kauaigov/mvr/mvr or via mail. Additionally, a computer has been set up in the Kapule Building of the Lihu`e Civic Center for users to access the registration renewal service online. Registration records of all vehicles in Hawaii must be updated annually. "The County of Kauai would like to thank the public for its continued patience with wait times at the Motor Vehicle Registration (MVR) office," said MVR Treasurer David Schwartz. "While we are in the process of hiring more staff, we are encouraging the public to make use of the online and mailing registration renewal service." You may use the online service if: • You have received a renewal application form; • Your vehicle is currently registered in the County of Kauai; • Your registration is within 45 days of the expiration date; 0 Your registration has not expired. The system is maintained on secure servers and uses the latest encryption technology to ensure privacy, security, and data integrity. Citizens may access the online system by providing the last four digits of their Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and their license plate number. The user-friendly interface guides the user through the entire payment process. The fee may be paid with a credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or Discover) or electronic check. Upon confirmation of payment, a receipt will be emailed and may be printed for recordkeeping. Registration renewals may also may be mailed to County of Kauai Department of Finance Treasury Division (MVR) 4444 Rice. St., Ste. 466 Lihu`e HI, 96766-1340. The new registration certificate and emblem will be mailed to the customer via the U.S. Postal Service. Please allow 10 business days for your registration certificate and emblem to be delivered.
