Managing Director KANANI FU, DIRECTOR Tel (808) 241-4444 Fax (808) 241-5118 Housing Agency announces public meeting LIHU`E - The County of Kauai Housing Agency announces a public meeting to present the draft Evnviromental Assessment for the Pua Loke Affordable Housing Development project. The meeting will be held on Thursday, March 8, at 6 p.m. at the LThu`e Civic Center, Pi`ikoi Building Conference Room A in LThu`e. The proposed housing development would include up to 60 multi -family affordable rental housing units together with onsite parking areas that would be located in LThu`e. The proposed project would accommodate a blend of affordable incomes, and would include units to serve those experiencing homelessness. The meeting is being held in order to present the proposed project and receive comments from the public in accordance with Chapter 343, Hawaii Revised Statutes (HRS) and associated Title 11, Chapter 200, Hawaii Administrative Rules (HAR); Environmental Impact Statement Rules, as well as the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) (40 Code of Federal Regulations [CFR] Parts 1500-1508) and 24 CFR Part 58; Environmental Review Procedures for Entities Assuming HUD Environmental Responsibilities. The draft Environmental Assessment may be viewed online at www.kauai.gov/housing or on the Office of Environmental Quality Control website http://oegc2.doh.hawaii.gov/The Environmental Notice/2018-02-08-TEN.pdf All interested persons who wish to comment on the draft Environmental Assessment may do so at the public meeting, or may submit written comments to Kauai County Housing Agency, 4444 Rice Street, Suite 330, Lihu`e, Hawaii 96766, Attn: Koa Duncan or via email at kduncan(a-)_kauai.gov. All comments received by March 12, 2018 will be considered.
