Improvements to traffic flow on Mahea, Mehana Roads in
`Ele`ele now in effect
`ELE`ELE — The public is advised that effective today, March 7, there will be a change in
the traffic pattern at the Mahea Road and Mehana Road intersection in `Ele`ele.
Traffic on Mehana Road will need to stop at the new stop bar and stop sign.
Traffic on Mahea Road will now have the right of way.
Two new crosswalks have also been installed at this intersection, and motorists are
advised they must yield to pedestrians.
The changes in this intersection are designed to improve pedestrian safety, and facilitate
efficient traffic flow.
Funding for this $186,050 project, including new sidewalk improvements in the area,
were provided through the federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and executed
by the Department of Public Works, Engineering Division.
The Department of Public Works thanks the community for their cooperation and
adaptation to this new traffic pattern. For questions or more information, please call Devin Quinn
at 241-4995.
