K-PAL thanks generous community donors
The Kauai Police Activities League (K-PAL) would like to extend their appreciation to

This year, over $4,000 of donations to support the North Shore Basketball League were
received from the following: Rosalyn and Joseph Newman Foundation; North Shore Lions Club;
John and Nancy Conley; Robert and Sandra Berger; Diversified Awards and Engraving;
Clorinda and Robert Nakashima; Thomas D. King Jr. RLT; Kilauea School PTSA; Trudy Comba;
Donald H. McConnell Jr. Trust; Frank Rothchild and F Evelyn De Buhr; Joyce Nagata; Kilauea
Senior Center; Pau Hana Pizza Inc.; Mary and Cecil Dust; and Richard and Agnes Parks.
"As a volunteer -based non-profit organization, it is only through the generosity of the
community that K-PAL can continue to offer programs to our youth," said Deputy Chief Michael
Contrades. "We are truly grateful to everyone that contributes, whether it be through funding or
volunteerism."
KPAL's North Shore Basketball League is focused on having fun, learning instructional
skills, and developing healthy sportsmanship.
K-PAL is a non-profit organization devoted to developing character, self-discipline and
healthy lifestyles among Kaua`i's youth. It seeks to strengthen police -community relations. K-
PAL strives to "fill playgrounds, not prisons" by providing positive activities and role models for
Kauai youth in hopes of encouraging good behavior and helping them reach their full potential.
To view a full schedule of classes or to register for any K-PAL program, please visit

you know is interested in coaching, please complete a volunteer form at www.kauai.gov/police.
