Managing Director DARRYL PERRY, CHIEF Tel (808) 241-1600 Fax (808) 241-1604 K-PAL thanks generous community donors The Kauai Police Activities League (K-PAL) would like to extend their appreciation to some very generous donors. This year, over $4,000 of donations to support the North Shore Basketball League were received from the following: Rosalyn and Joseph Newman Foundation; North Shore Lions Club; John and Nancy Conley; Robert and Sandra Berger; Diversified Awards and Engraving; Clorinda and Robert Nakashima; Thomas D. King Jr. RLT; Kilauea School PTSA; Trudy Comba; Donald H. McConnell Jr. Trust; Frank Rothchild and F Evelyn De Buhr; Joyce Nagata; Kilauea Senior Center; Pau Hana Pizza Inc.; Mary and Cecil Dust; and Richard and Agnes Parks. "As a volunteer -based non-profit organization, it is only through the generosity of the community that K-PAL can continue to offer programs to our youth," said Deputy Chief Michael Contrades. "We are truly grateful to everyone that contributes, whether it be through funding or volunteerism." KPAL's North Shore Basketball League is focused on having fun, learning instructional skills, and developing healthy sportsmanship. K-PAL is a non-profit organization devoted to developing character, self-discipline and healthy lifestyles among Kaua`i's youth. It seeks to strengthen police -community relations. K- PAL strives to "fill playgrounds, not prisons" by providing positive activities and role models for Kauai youth in hopes of encouraging good behavior and helping them reach their full potential. Troutman has - been involved with the k program for over 25 years. He volunteers his time raising ---� funds for the program, recruiting coaches, and working with schools on the north shore to find interested students to sign up for the league.
